Ceasefire. Go ahead. Say it. Everyone would like a ceasefire. How long has this been dragging on? Two months now? Two months 24 April.
Vladimir P called off the purging of Azovstal. For obvious reasons. Prudent move. The bad guys will give up when they’re ready.
Nobody likes war. But everyone understands the objectives. But what an ugly mess the West made of it. This is mass formation psychosis, Dr Malone? Is that what you called it? Price at the pump? Fertiliser? Wheat? They’re not hurting Russia.
This isn't a partisan issue. People from both sides of the divide have protested, for different reasons. Some in the US are bewildered and amazed that so much concern and worry can be expended over a crisis that’s an ocean and more away when their own border at home is left wide open. Others are aghast at the presence of genuine WWII Nazis (their direct descendants, not juvenile delinquent skinheads) thriving in Ukraine and chiefly financed by - the US??!? It's a disaster either way.
Gonzalo Lira is OK for now, folks. The SBU took his digital equipment. He's on Twitter on a new account, he’s done interviews with The Duran and Richard Medhurst in Vienna, but he cannot and will not talk about his week-long incarceration, as there's an ongoing investigation. He's also prohibited from fleeing Kharkov, something he probably wouldn't have attempted anyway.
This is the first 'sign of life', brief, with Alex of the Duran.
Here Alex and Gonzalo talk at length with Alexander. Note they cut out the video because of the low bandwidth.
Sitrep
Goodness knows what the western MSM are spewing out (one hyper-egregious sample here) and it's psychotic and ghastly, but these are the actual facts what we know.
Mariupol has fallen. This was a major obstacle to further progress. There are a few thousand Nazis, together with NATO VIPs, left in the catacombs beneath Azovstal and the freedom forces will wait them out. It's just a matter of time. Ongoing investigations into the dozens of Nuland/US-sponsored biolabs continue.
Russia's next move is unknown, but they seem to be moving. As Andrei M points out below, the Russians of course have contingency plans for taking Kiev, for doing almost anything, but that doesn't mean they're going to do it. They only want the Nazis and the military threats gone.
The West's become increasingly desperate and actually downright hysterical. There's not much they can do. There never was. Put in ear muffs if you watch their MSM. Use some of the blocked news sources instead - RT, teleSUR, Duran, Smoothie, MoA, Saker.
As this is a proxy war, the war is actually being waged between the proxies. It's been scary with bona-fide WWII Nazis being hidden yet cultivated by the US, but there you have it.
What the Biden White House hoped to achieve is anyone's guess, but they were wrong. They sort of like failed bigly, as things stand right now, and those dumbass sanctions are hardly hurting Gospodna Russova in her sable coat eating her Beluga caviar - they're hurting Joe and Josephine Blogs in the West. Grand move, guys!
And the standard GOP response in the US makes no more sense. Trying to talk tough to Putin wouldn't help - trying to listen might. Trump wanted to talk to Putin - the Deep State didn't like the idea. Perhaps they passed messages like Winston and Julia?
The way the EU - ie Ursula - reacted is despotic. A recognisable trait in her. People are reminded that she is not elected to office, and likely would never be elected, were vox populi to be heard.
The mid-terms loom in the US. Behold the shit-show.
The goal for the people is the same as before, the same as after WWII, the same as at Nuremberg.
It's been speculated that Putin's (or let's say Russia's) ultimate goal is to reverse (redo) history from way back in the 1940s when Russia was too accommodating to Germany. Many nations were like that. Perhaps the time has come to finally turn a page on human history and get humanity back on a conscionable course.
The culture of the West continues to unravel. Words like 'liberal', 'progressive', and 'conservative' are empty today. 'MAGA' means something in the sense of 'this is how we want to live our lives and we're not going to bother you either'.
But it all boils down to a simple equation. You're either for the people or you're with the establishment. There doesn't seem to be any 'in-between'. The Libs of Tik Tok story shows a culture in advanced decay. WTF is going on there? That's education?
The empire's no more. Can the US play second fiddle? Sharon Tennison kept saying that the US and Russia have so much to offer each other. But has the time run out when even the people in the street in Russia have turned their backs on the West?
Russia and Eurasia no longer need the West. Z-Big foresaw this.
November can mark a sea change not only in the US but in the West, but it's not a panacea. The US and all societies seem to take interminable ages to arrive at a consensus about simple obvious truths, and only accidentally stumble upon them now and then.
Yet things continue to evolve. Reason ultimately prevails, even as reason itself evolves, but it can seem to take an inordinately long time.
Sitrep: Urgent Briefing from the Russian Mod re new provocations
This is extensive and covered well by the Saker.

EU Commission, US Submit To Reality
Very long piece by Bernhard.
All energy consumption in the US and EU will now come at a premium price. This will push the EU and the US into a recession. As Russia will increase the prices for exports of goods in which it has market power - gas, oil, wheat, potassium, titanium, aluminium, palladium, neon etc - the rise in inflation all around the world will become significant.
The US is unwilling to give up its supremacist urges without a large fight. But while the US over the last 20 years has spent its money to mess up the Middle East, Russia and China have used the time to prepare for the larger conflict. They have spent more brain time on the issue than the US has.
His final comment.
Note: You are not entitled to receive freebies just because you claim to be 'woke', are deeply Russophobic, or can distinguish the taste of twenty different wines served at various receptions in Brussels.
Get used to it.

Late-Breaking
Oh get a load of this. You always trusted Wikipedia, right? No? Why not?
Sharyl Attkisson's been pointing this out for ages. The sheeple don't react. Even now they don't (enough).
Wikipedia has tilted so far left in recent years that its co-founder Larry Sanger now says the site can not longer be trusted and has become propaganda.
You don't tilt news. Period.
There's a very big, nasty, complex game being played behind the scenes to make the article say what somebody wants them to say. - Larry Sanger
Activist editors on the site have long tried to delete an entry for 'Mass killings under communist regimes' - though for now it remains online.
O RLY?
‘Known for a long time that Wikipedia is a compromised propaganda tool of the left’, writes ‘jnolan’, but it's probably more than that. Sharyl knows it.
Wikipedia's become a tool of the establishment, and the establishment are currently using the 'left', but that can change at any time.
Don't look for symbols when searching for solutions, said George Carlin. 'Leave symbols to the symbol-minded.'
Right now the enemy seems to be the 'woke left' in the US, but be careful. Yes, some visionary Italian predicted this right after WWII, but think a bit. If totalitarianism can swing from right to left then it can swing back again. Bottom line? Once again: stop thinking in terms of right and left. TPTB want you to do that. It keeps you occupied while they stroll off to the bank, laughing all the way.
Putin asks EU to use its influence over Ukraine to stop the 'numerous war crimes' by their forces
Brussels could encourage Kiev to refrain from 'massive shelling' of Donbass and from committing 'other gross violations' of international law, Russian President Vladimir Putin told European Council President Charles Michel on Thursday.
It was noted that Brussels could influence the Kiev authorities in order to force them to stop the massive shelling of Donbass settlements and other gross violations of international humanitarian law.
Comments by SOTT:
Russia tried to open humanitarian corridors, twice, but the offers were rejected by Ukraine, who are known for using civilians as human shields.
Zelensky claimed to have not even received the peace proposals, which means either he's lying, or he simply isn't considered to be a key figure in the negotiation process.

Sadism is a marked feature of racist fascism, or 'nazism', and it's proudly displayed in today's Ukraine.
Oh yeah. Himmler was impressed (and scared shitless).
This is ugly stuff. Of course closed by Twitter.

No none. Let's hope for better times.
World War II Casualties
Visiting the area in southwest England where Ike planned D-Day: you can feel history rising from the mists at night. Watching the ships far off in the English channel: the same intimation. Dot-dot-dot-DASH is what you want to sing.
So many WWII vets visited England on the occasion of the Spielberg film. D-Day was one of the most daring, craziest, bloodiest, most deadly, in human history.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II_casualties
World War II was the deadliest military conflict in history. An estimated total of 70-85 million people perished, or about 3% of the 2.3 billion (est.) people on Earth in 1940. Deaths directly caused by the war (including military and civilian fatalities) are estimated at 50-56 million, with an additional estimated 19-28 million deaths from war-related disease and famine. Civilian deaths totaled 50-55 million. Military deaths from all causes totaled 21-25 million, including deaths in captivity of about 5 million prisoners of war. More than half of the total number of casualties are accounted for by the dead of the Republic of China and of the Soviet Union.
Sapiens?
Note Latvia and Lithuania on that graph.
Did Germany invade Russia alone? Did they teach you in school?
According to Russian government figures, USSR losses within postwar borders now stand at 26.6 million.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II_casualties_of_the_Soviet_Union
Nazism was still an ocean away for Ike. Nazism invaded Russia, the second time in history Russia was invaded. Every family in Russia has trauma due to WWII. It's not a game for them. It's not Hogan's Heroes.
So why all this 'Kremlin propaganda'?
Because there are two sides to every story. And if you don't listen to the other guy, you get in messes like they've made in the Ukraine now. Cultivating Nazism? Really? Since 1945? For what? Financed through to 1990, then taken up again by Vicki Nudelman? What are they smoking in the Truman Building? And such disastrous consequences for everyone else.
The ending of Spy Game with Robert Redford and Brad Pitt: After completing his mission being played out halfway around the world, Redford drives away from Spook Central and into retirement, the verdure abounding around him. Not even close to the tragedy.
Smoothie: 'The fucking stupidest guy on the face of the earth'
That's a quote by Tommy Franks. It's a story about Douglas Feith.
How competent are they? How evil are they? The Nulands, the Kagans? Their narrative is collapsing. 'In moral terms, the West is very ill, very sick, at this stage', says the based grandpa. Nations of people who would get along and party all night - and yet TPTB want to keep them warring with each other, for personal profit. So they can motor home to their lush estates in the suburbs of Houston and call it a day with a bourbon and branch...
